On October 11, as part of the celebration of Irpin City Day, the opening of a restored residential building took place, which was almost completely destroyed during the Russian occupation in 2022.
The event was attended by the Austrian Ambassador to Ukraine Robert Müller, as well as the leadership of the NGO "People's Aid Ukraine" - Chairman of the Board of Directors Ivan Kovalyshyn and Executive Director Anastasia Beridze.
The house was badly damaged, as it was in the line of fire between the two sides. Its residents were certain they would never be able to return home.
But thanks to the joint efforts of Volkshilfe Österreich, the Solidarity Foundation, Nachbar in Not, and the NGO People's Aid Ukraine, the house was restored 💙💛
This is one of the facilities renovated as part of the project.
"Assistance in early recovery of war-affected communities in Bucha, Irpin, and Hostomel" (2022–2024).
We are grateful to our Austrian partners and everyone who joined this important cause.
And most importantly, we rejoice with the residents, who today once again have the opportunity to call this place their home 🕊
