On February 1, Austrian President Van der Bellen paid an official visit to Ukraine. The delegation included Federal Minister for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology Leonore Hewessler, Federal Minister of Labor and Economics Martin Kocher, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Ukraine Arad Benkö, and Executive Director of the NGO Volkshilfe Solidarität Erich Fenninger.
As part of the visit, the President visited School No. 3 of the Bucha City Council, where major roof construction was carried out as part of the project "Assistance in early recovery to families and communities affected by the war in Bucha, Irpin and Hostomel", which is implemented by the NGO "Narodna Dopomochka Ukraine", in cooperation with the NGO "Volkshilfe Österreich" with financial support from "Nachbar in Not" and "Arbeiterwohlfahrt International"
During his visit to the school, the President had the opportunity to talk to the project implementers and see with his own eyes the changes for the better that are taking place thanks to this activity.
It is important to us that the work we do in Ukraine with the support of our partners and donors is highly appreciated at the highest level.
Thank you Austria for supporting Ukraine!
